During the past several months, many people from the communities of our district have encouraged me to renew my bid for State House.  Because of your encouragement and my passion to serve district 2, I have registered to run in the August 24, 2010 Primary.

I am a fourth generation Alaskan; born, raised, and educated in Petersburg.  I am proud of my life-long residency in Alaska.  My diverse work experience, business background, and education are skills that will be brought to the State House.  Serving you would be a privilege, and with your help, we can create a strong voice that will be heard in the State Legislature.

Over the past two years, many of us have visited together in Sitka, Wrangell, Petersburg, and Pelican.  While spending time with you, it became apparent to me that we are looking for leadership willing to seek new focus and bring spark back into our economy. 

Your interest in strong schools, streamlining the ferry system, and a healthy living environment for all our families has not gone unheard.  Together, these goals will be met, while strengthening and expanding the tools needed to support our economic base such as commercial fishing, tourism and energy development.  Our resources are our future and all Alaskans need maximum benefit of those resources.

Our diverse district deserves to have an elected official with a well-rounded Alaskan background.  We have worked together in the industries that allow us to live here and I am proud of our district, Southeast, and Alaska.
